Historic Timeline
Jim Jones commercial driving career hauling household goods (HHG) from NY to FL.
Began rigging and hauling graphic arts machinery working for Williams Machinery Movers Inc. in New Hyde Park, NY. This is where Jim Jones learned specialized hauling and rigging. Jim worked for Williams until 1986.

Start of J&J Machinery Transport with one truck. Jim Jones loaded the first load from Okum Machinery Hauppauge NY to Westec Show in Los Angeles. The trip began on Monday night and ended Thursday night in Los Angeles.
Two 1987 Peterbuilts were added to the fleet this year and driven by company employees. In May of 1987 J&J Machinery Transport relocated Okuma Machinery from Hauppauge NY to Charlotte NC.
Two additional trucks were purchased. A Peterbuilt and a Marmon tractor. There were now 5 tractors and 6 trailers in the fleet.
First Company truck that was Charlotte based Truck was operational and is still in operation in 2020; a 1984 Peterbuilt.
Two trucks were now permanently in Charlotte as business was growing in the area.
J&J Machinery relocated from Deer Park NY to Charlotte NC. The relocation was due mostly due to the ports customers were accessing. The new warehouse was located at the heart of customer locations.
First International Machine Tool Show in Chicago. This is the second largest machine tool show in the world. 18 tractors were used to transport these loads all under the instruction of J&J Machinery Transport.
All 5 J&J Machinery Transport trucks parked in Steele Creek ready for their next mission.
Opened up our terminal in Buena Park, CA. Southeast Asia imports were coming in from the West Coast, this was a response to a need.
Philadelphia gear in King Prussia, NY installing an Okuma double column machining center.
The lease in Buena Park ended and relocated the terminal to a permanent location in Long Beach, CA.
